Sometime yesterday evening, my friend Rebecca asked me (out of the blue, if I might add) if I wanted to go to the pre-screening of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

One of the first things that you notice is that the typical feisty Harry Potter feel was missing. Right from the beginning, the movie has a dark look and feel to it, which is keeping in line with the book. While there are several deviations from the book which would probably annoy the staunch HP fans, overall, we felt that was most definitely best Harry Potter movie to date.
In particular, this movie got several characters just right - I cannot see anyone else playing Luna Lovegood, and Dolores Umbridge turned just as annoying as I’d imagined her to be so (and more bitchy, too).
There were a few key details that were left out, but I am hoping that these will be shown in the extended edition. I could tell you all more, but I would ruin the movie for those that haven’t seen it (or haven’t read the books).
My only advice to you is this - go watch it.
